You are going to begin a comprehensive research assignment about your future. You will be creating a PowerPoint to showcase the information you have found.
Find a career that best suits your personality that interests you. Take the color aptitude test to give you some ideas. Everyone take this test, and create a slide or two in PowerPoint to show the results.
Research the career of your choice. Create a slide or two in your presentation about that career.
Then figure out the type of schooling required to move forward with your career. Example: Work Force, Military, Technical School, Beauty School, Associate’s Degree, 4-Year University, or more extensive schooling. Create a slide or two about your choice.
Decide on the specific school you would attend. Find the cost of going to school there. If it is a University decide whether you will stay on campus or commute to determine the price.
After you graduate from your schooling you will live at home for at least 1 year to get ahead in your bank account, using an entry level salary in your field of work. I will leave the number of years up to you.
You will then take a look at the housing market and find a house that fits your budget. You will need to have a down payment for the house that you are deciding to purchase. You may also rent if that is more suitable.
You will create a budget in excel considering the following:
³ School Loan Payments
³ Mortgage Payments
³ Taxes
³ Car Payments & gasoline
³ Heating Bills/ Gas
³ Electric Bills
³ Phone Bills
³ Water/Sewage Bills
³ Cable/Internet Bills
³ Food Budget
This project is designed to get you to look towards your future and how you can be financially stable. The choices you make in school determine where you may end up later in life. Keep in mind we are completing this project as if everything were going to happen today. In reality, the way the economy is the value of the dollar is decreasing. Inflation is occurring and the salaries are not moving at the same rate.

Take this color career test. I tried it myself and it seemed relatively accurate. My #2 suggestion was teaching Jr. High/High School. It gives you the top 40 careers that match your test results.
